My name is Ms. Samples and I am so excited to have your child in my class for the 2023-2024 school year. Third grade is an exciting year of growth and fun! This year I will be teaching math and science and my partner teacher, Ms. Curtis, will be teaching reading and social studies. This is our seventh year working in 3rd grade as partner teachers. In our classrooms, we have high expectations for all students, encourage and support one another, and learn and grow from our mistakes. I can't wait to see what learning adventures are in store for us this year.

A little bit about me: I earned my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education from ETSU in Johnson City, TN. The 2023-2024 school year marks the beginning of my tenth year of teaching 3rd grade at Glenellen and I absolutely love it! In my free time I enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

  • 1 inch binder with clear plastic cover and inside pockets
  • 1 box of 24 count crayons
  • 1 large box of tissues
  • 5 plastic 3-prong pocket folders
  • 1 package Clorox/Lysol wipes
  • 2 packages of 4 dry erase markers
  • 5 packages of wide-ruled loose leaf notebook paper
  • 1 wide-ruled hardbound composition notebook
  • 1 wide-ruled spiral notebook
  • 2 yellow highlighters
  • 1 box colored pencils
  • 1” or 1½” plain binder with clear cover**
  • 1 package classic pink erasers
  • 1 package standard size post-it notes
  • 1 package of 3x5 white index cards

**not required, but students are highly encouraged to have a binder to organize their work

Boys: 1 bottle hand sanitizer
